This site is deliberately lean: no cookies, no analytics tools, no advertising networks, no embedded third-party content. There are exactly two points at which data is processed.

1. Visiting the site

When you visit, the server logs technically necessary data: IP address, time, requested path, browser identification and referrer. This serves operation and defence against attacks.

The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR — the legitimate interest in a functioning and secure service. Logs are deleted after 14 days at the latest.

Hosting is provided by Hetzner Online GmbH, Industriestr. 25, 91710 Gunzenhausen, Germany. The servers are located in Germany.

2. Newsletter

Subscription uses a double opt-in procedure: after entering your address, an email with a confirmation link is sent. The subscription only becomes effective once you click it. Without confirmation the entry is not used.

Stored are: email address, language, time and IP address of both signup and confirmation, the transmitted browser identification, and the page the signup came from. Time and IP address serve as proof of consent pursuant to Art. 7(1) GDPR.

The legal basis is consent pursuant to Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR. It can be withdrawn at any time with effect for the future — via the unsubscribe link in every email or informally by message. After withdrawal the address is removed from the distribution list; proof of the original consent is retained only as long as needed to defend against claims.

Resend is used for delivery (Resend, Inc., 2261 Market Street, San Francisco, CA 94114, USA) as a processor. Processing takes place in the provider's EU region (Ireland); access from the United States cannot be excluded and is based on the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.

There is no open or click tracking. Addresses are not passed on to third parties and are not sold.

Your rights

Access (Art. 15), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and objection (Art. 21) — a message to the address above is sufficient.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. The competent authority is the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information of North Rhine-Westphalia, Kavalleriestr. 2–4, 40213 Düsseldorf, Germany.
